I don't think racism will ever go away. Oh, it's not what you think; I believe that as a whole, America has largely erased its taint of slavery and racial discrimination. Of course, since I'm not black, there are those (liberals) who will say that I'm not allowed to have this opinion because I haven't "walked a mile" in the black person's shoes. Since these same people (liberals) deride conservative blacks (e.g. Justice Clarence Thomas, Dr. Walter Williams, Dr. Thomas Sowell) for saying similar things, I'm in a no win situation, so what do I care.
Obama's election to the most powerful office in the world should have confirmed America's transcendence of its racist past, but not to the liberal mind. As I listen to talk radio shows (yes, they are conservative talk shows), I often hear callers complaining that the criticism of Obama stems from the fact that he is a black man. Never mind that the Obama administration policies are introducing oppressive taxes in order to achieve "fairness". So the excuse is that if Obama fails as president it will be because he is black and wasn't given a chance.
When will the liberal lovers of racism be satisfied?
Apart from Obama there is justice Sonia Sotomayor, another race opportunist. Her comment that a wise Latina could make better decisions than a white male who doesn't have the Latina's rich experiences has a hint of racism itself, no? Of course, white males never have rich experiences, do they? What rich experiences what she talking about, the experience of making tortillas (isn't that what Latinas do), of raising large families (all white people have nannies and such to take care of their kids), of personal tragedy (no relative of a white person gets murdered or killed in a traffic accident)? I'm not clear on this.
Here's a shocker: when it comes to arriving at judicial rulings, I'd like to have a judge with a proven rich experience of reading comprehension and of understanding the Constitution of the United States.
And Sotomayor's decision in the Connecticut firefighters case; just because the black firefighters were not immediately eligible for promotion based on test results, does that invalidate the test? Oh yeah, I know, "disparate impact" and all that, sure, that needs to be considered. But should a black firefighter not have to know hose pressures and the behavior of combustible materials just like the white (and Hispanic) firefighters? When do standards apply? Whose "rich experiences" are implying that the test just might be to hard for the black man? Huh, whose?
Let me ask one more thing at the risk of being thought the worst kind of "racist" (but, heck, anyone who believes in standards is at risk of that term): Could it be that the black firefighters just didn't study hard enough?
If that's the case why didn't they think they had to?
Racism won't go away. Liberals won't allow it to leave. It gets them what they want and provides them with an eternal excuse.

That's how it is. Stop Complaining
I keep hearing how unfair it is that the media is so liberal and biased against conservatives and Republicans. I've heard it for years and I'm tired of hearing it. I know it's true and I get angry when the media - particularly the new media - distorts the truth or tries to destroy someone's reputation because of his or her conservative values (pick your conservative on this one).
Sure. It's true. The media is liberal, unfair, and untruthful. If you're complaining about it, stop and accept the reality.
Then get to work at fighting back.

Bowing and Scraping before Bullies
When Obama goes overseas or to other countries not overseas and apologizes for America and runs my country down in front of other world leaders he reminds me of a feckless child who hopes that by submitting himself to a bully that the bully won't beat him up.
One of two things will happen. Either the child will become a bully, too, or the bully - though happy with the homage - will still kick the kid's ass.

A Great Day to be an Extremist
Now that Obama's DHS secretary has labeled me an extremist in its memo to law enforcement agencies - yeah, that's what the report has done, no matter what Napolitano says - I feel strangely okay about it.
I'll be able to get away with anything I want because his wet-tissue administration won't "torture" me for information. I'm hoping in the list of interrogation techniques that he released to the enemy (which is potentially me now, I guess) that "speaking sharply" is one of those actions, or maybe a "sideways glance"?
Obama's such a wimp.

Maybe I'll Buy a Ford Next Time
Hey, I heard the Ford Motor Company not participating in the government auto bailout. I wonder why? Perhaps it's top people are not sniveling mendicants wanting to avoid accountability for poor decisions?
I don't know. I need to see how it plays out. But maybe, if Ford is actually trying to get stronger and more competitive, I'll by a Ford next time I go car shopping.

The Real Reason for Taxes (per B.H. Obama)
We hear lots about taxes during the presidential campaigns. What would Obama do about taxes, and why? Well, during one of the Democrat debates against Ms. Clinton, Obama gave his reason. When challenged by the moderator (Charlie Rose, I think) who gave statistics that lowering of taxes actually increase revenue to the government, Obama responded that he would look into increasing capital gains taxes for "purposes of fairness."
Fairness? No substantive reason, just fairness? Just substitute "control" for "fairness." How about the fairness of letting people who work hard for their money, or who make smart and sound financial decisions about their investments keep the money they earn?
I think that's fair.

Barak Obama's New Racism
Oh, I think that Mr. Obama is not the person to transcend race as predicted by most of the mainstream media. But I do believe that he will be an instrument of change. The "song" by Ludacris (later "denounced" by the Obama campaign) reinforces my belief. Obama wants to be the author of change, but he still calls attention to his race, mentioning at a fundraiser in Jacksonville (you can watch it here) that Republicans will say, "...oh, and did I mention, he's (Obama) black."
Why, if he is going to rise above change, does he keep the race issue alive? Why does he allow his wife to shoot her mouth off as to how much of a victim he has been - and potentially continues to be - during the course of his life. I have this terrible suspicion that even if Obama wins, should his presidency (ughh) be a failure, he will have put himself in the position to say that even though he became president, the racism in Congress prevented him from doing a better job. In this regard, he's no better than any other "victim".
What about Ludacris's rap paean to him: "...paint the White House black...McCain don't belong in any chair unless he's paralyzed." With regard to Hilary Clinton Ludacris has these words, "Hilary hated on you, so that bitch (distorted) is irrelevant." Where is the Liberal Feminist outrage for this?
Oh, sure, the Obama campaign denounced the song, but I wonder if they're really happy that the song went out to reach the young voters.
Great, Obama gets the gangsta vote. He'll create change alright. We'll be living under his racism.

Terrorists and Brownshirts
I really don't want Barack Obama to be president. That prospect fills me with dread. I've heard and seen his audio and video clips, even sections of his biography book on tape. I've heard about his association with the fiery Reverend Wright and the former member of the Weather Underground, William Ayers. His given reason to increase taxes on wealthy people causes me to shake my head in open-mouthed disbelief, and his most recent statement that the United States needs, not just a military force, but a civilian law enforcement force to complement the military scares the bejeebers out of me.
Obama listened for 20 years to Reverend J. Wright spouting his angry diatribes against the United States and whites. Don't tell me Obama hasn't bought into some, or all, of that. And accepting support - of whatever nature - from a man who to this day regrets that he didn't do enough destruction to America through domestic terrorist activities. Doesn't the old adage, "By your friends you shall be known," apply here? I don't care what he says, the fact that he has gravitated toward these people and accepted their friendship and support shows me that he has likely been significantly influenced by their views.
I realize that racism and discrimination against blacks was, and is, a terrible thing and should not be allowed to exist. But I can't even consider voting for a man whose significant influential figure is a preacher whose intimations cause me to think that a country run by Obama will enable the we're-gonna-get-whitey crowd. With respect to Mr. Ayers, the safety of the people of our nation demands that terrorists - even one whose heyday is passed - should not be allowed access to the highest office in the land.
More recently, and more frighteningly was the content of Obama's July 18, 2008 speech in Colorado Springs. He declared that the United States needs a civilian force as well funded as the military in order to ensure our national security:
Obama is a danger to the country - yes, a danger - based on the influences and thinking he would allow into the office of President.

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
Yeah, that really scares the heck out of me. Obama wants to add a national security force? Can you say KGB (Soviet Union), Brownshirts (Germany), MSVN (the Tontons Macoute of Haiti)? What does he want, his own group of agents accountable to him only? That bothers me.
Obama is a danger to the country - yes, a danger - based on the influences and thinking he would allow into the office of President.
